Prefabricated L-shaped house in Spain

A prefabricated house with a luxurious design in Madrid and high-tech style

Prefabricated house with a Mediterranean character built in Madrid, inspired by our Westend model from the new 111 catalogue, with a surface area of 464 m² distributed over two floors.

The L-shaped floor plan and the use of lateral or L-shaped volumetry stand out, but also the difficult design and the result achieved with the envelope. This envelope, which acts as the “skin of the house”, has a different materiality to the rest of the house, allowing the design to take centre stage.

A modular Mediterranean-style house design that uses technological wood as the main exterior material. A very durable and easy-to-clean material. The façade is clad with large-format ceramic tiles (120 x 60) with a continuous joint.

Design and elegance

The entrance is bright thanks to an inner courtyard and floor-to-ceiling windows. On the main floor we find the Japanese or cantilevered wooden staircase. This is accompanied by a cantilevered glass panel fixed to the ceiling that illuminates the space, as well as a handrail with lighting set into the wall.

On the lower floor is the living room, which is separated from the kitchen by an invisible door. We can also highlight elements such as the coffered ceiling, which provides direct lighting in the living room. The kitchen has a very thick worktop that extends into a space that can be used for breakfast or an aperitif. Here we find the combination of design and functionality.

The staircase leads to the first floor with double height and two further rooms.

Wood, the noble material

Wood is a key element in interior design projects, a noble and lively material that radiates warmth. In addition, it connects the home with its surroundings, creating atmospheres with styles ranging from contemporary to timeless. Wood is also a material with different shades and textures, to be chosen entirely according to the client’s taste and the style they choose for their home.
On-site assembly
The modules of this L-shaped modular house travelled by lorry to Madrid.

During the implementation of this house the rain played a trick on us, the mud on the plot made installing the crane almost mission impossible, the working hours were limited by the access, the hours of light played against us and the rain and cold generated great discomfort. But the resilient spirit of inHAUS, ready to face all kinds of challenges, managed to install the house on the same day. Unforeseen events are always going to happen, but what marks the character of a company is how it deals with them, and at inHAUS Houses we face them head on, with courage, effort and passion.

Design and concept

House with L-shaped floor plan

The individualisation inHAUS modular house
This prefabricated house in Madrid with a High-Tech character has a clear and dominant L-shaped floor plan. This shape is emphasised by the presence of the house’s envelope, the overhangs and the legs at the ends that allow its architecture.

The modular house is distributed over two floors and four bedrooms, of which the master bedroom with dressing room and study stands out.

Plan and layout

The realisation of this project went through various phases. Firstly, one of the models from our catalogue of 111 modular houses, the Westend model, was used as a starting point. This design consists of an L-shaped floor plan, but due to the characteristics of the client’s plot, a linear structure was designed to optimise the use of the plot.
